Whanne that Julyë with its blazing sunnë
Does dryë the grassë until its leaves are dunnë
And fills the sky with light* and longer dayes
So hot we all eschew our work and laze.
As children off from bookes, tests and schoolë
Do take to swimmen in a nearby poolë.
It's then that "Schola" folk do book their flight*
And jet across the pond all through the night*
To come to Canterboury with their "Kyngë"
And pleasure all as Evensong they syngë.
* gh pronounced "chh"
